Privacy policy

Universal Connect takes the protection of your personal information seriously. This policy explains, in plain terms, what information we collect on this website, why, who it is shared with and what your rights are, in accordance with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

1. Person in charge of personal information

The person in charge of the protection of personal information is the founder of Universal Connect. For any question, request or complaint: [email protected] (Québec, Canada).

2. Information we collect

When you request a quote (website form): your name, your email address, the type of project you choose, the message you write and the language of the page. You provide them voluntarily; without them, we cannot reply to you.

When you email us directly at [email protected]: your email address and the content of your message.

When you visit the website: as with any website, our host receives technical data needed to display pages and keep the site secure (IP address, browser type, pages requested). We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate (page views, country, device type, referring site). This tool uses no cookies and is not used to identify you or track you across websites.

We do not collect any sensitive information, and the website is not intended for children under 14.

3. Why we use it

We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising and we make no automated decisions about you.

4. Cookies and browser storage

The website sets no cookies. It only keeps two small technical items in your browser, which never leave your device:

You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

5. Service providers

We rely on a few providers, who only receive what their service requires:

These providers may process information outside Québec, including in the United States, where Web3Forms' servers are located; Web3Forms is operated by a company based in India (Web3Creative). We choose them for their security measures and limit the information shared to what is strictly necessary.

6. Retention

Requests that do not lead to a project are deleted no later than 24 months after our last exchange. If we work on a project together, our exchanges are kept for the duration of our business relationship, then for the period required by law (for example, six years for accounting and tax records).

7. Security

The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) with strict security headers, and the form is protected against bots. Access to your information is limited to the people who need it to handle your request. As no measure is perfect, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information if a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury.

8. Your rights

At any time, you may:

Email us at [email protected]. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

9. Our internal rules

Universal Connect applies written rules approved by the person in charge: only the people handling your request have access to your information; the retention periods above are checked at least twice a year; any new provider located outside Québec undergoes a privacy impact assessment before it is used; every confidentiality incident is recorded in a register; every request or complaint receives an acknowledgement and a written answer within 30 days.

10. Links to other websites

The website links to our Instagram page. When you follow that link, Instagram's (Meta's) privacy policy applies.

11. Changes

We may update this policy, for example if we add a service to the website. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
